Instead it remains fully aquatic. . In the wild, Axolotls are highly endangered, but they are popular in the pet trade, where they are captive bred.

Scientific Name: Ambystoma mexicanum

Characteristics: This Axolotl toy figurine represents a color morph commonly found among pet Axolotls, known as leucistic. Similar to albino, this morph features a pinkish skin, dark pink gills, and black eyes. With its feathery gills, ridged skin and translucent tail fins, it could be mistaken for the real thing.
